Personality Type in Depth - New Online Journal
Mark Hunziker, a local member of Vermont APT is proud to announce the creation of a new free online journal, Personality Type in Depth.
Personality Type in Depth is a free online journal intended to stimulate conversation on personality type in a medium that permits immediate feedback. The idea for Personality Type in Depth grew out of an online exchange in the spring of 2010 between PTD editors Carol Shumate and Mark Hunziker. They discussed their mutual interest in having an information- and idea-sharing forum that bridges the gap between personality type and depth psychology. They envisioned a journal where research and applications could coexist; where type practitioners and Jungians could interact--both formally via articles, and informally via unedited commentary; and where authors could put forth ideas and theories that are not necessarily fully formed or polished. Finally, they wanted the journal to be accessible to a general audience.
Type Resources, a longtime leader in exploring the deeper implications of Jungian type, agreed to host PTD as a free online journal and to manage the subscription list; and other experts agreed to be available as contributing editors when needed.
Upcoming PTD articles include pieces on organizational archetypes, function opposition in the workplace, meditation and Jungian typology, handedness and type, the Trickster archetype in Hamlet, how to recognize and do quality research, and a review of a Zurich-based seminar on "Symbols and Individuation in Global Politics."
Readers are encouraged to comment on all articles, and two features are designed specifically to invite comment: "Question of the Day" poses queries related to personality type to encourage readers to share their experiences and "Red Book Ruminations" posts excerpts from Jung's recently published account of his own internal journey, to stimulate interpretive reflections.
The editors invite articles that explore the interface between personality type and other fields, articles that focus exclusively on type, suggestions for "Question of the Day," and suggestions for Red Book excerpts. Each issue will contain two articles and a question or Red Book excerpt, and will appear every four to eight weeks. All perspectives are welcome. The journal can be accessed at www.typeindepth.com. Submissions or inquiries can be sent to PTDeditors@type-resources.com.
